What supplies do I need to purchase this wedding cake?

I make cake my brother's wedding in June, and I would start buying the supplies immediately. I've never done a wedding cake before, so I'm really sure what you need to buy. The cake will be four levels (8,10,12 and 14 square centimeters). They want to put between each layer peonies, wire with stones hanging from them at the top of the idea (not what you call this). I'll be covering each level in fondant, and the addition of the border, and pearls. Thus here are my questions: 1. Should I use the button on the pillar or plate separation and pillar method? 2. What size separator plates need? 3. What should I use for the wire and gemstones? 4. How can I put cardboard between the cake and cake drum, or just put it there? I got so many questions! I do not want this mess. Thank you very much for your time:)

First, these levels of size serve only about 160, not 200 +. If you save the level superior for their anniversary, that's about 140 servings. In the 200 + lots, slices will be very small so it depends on you. Now we have to pull off the road, to answer your questions. 1. You will use the plate separation / pillars to have space for peonies in between layers. Be sure to leave about 3 to 4 inches between each level since peonies are large flowers. 2. You want your separator plates to be the same size as your cake. 3. You can use floral wire and gems. You can find these in most craft stores or online. It is best if you have an image to show the sales person. 4. I would use cardboard under the cake and then make sure to use a sturdy cake drum made of wood or plastic or a dish of real cake. The cardboard / paper that you buy at the store are not strong enough to withstand the weight of this cake. Also, if you are not used to flavor fondant Wilton. Choco-Pan Usage or Pettinice fondant. Moreover, use a silicone mold fondant and pearl powder to its border with pearls. Mold and dust can be purchased at www.countrykitchensa.com. The powder can also be purchased in www.discountsugarflowers.com. You can also buy peonies Gumpaste here if you want to use real ones. Hope this helps ...

Description

This set of five tier patterns fit 6,8,10, 12, and 14 square cakes. The bottom tier is 6 high to fit a taller tier if needed. Can be used on circular cakes as well. Layer Sizes:#1: 3.5 H x 5 W, #2: 1.5 H x 4.5 W, #3: 3 H x 10 W, #4: 3 H x 12 W, #5, 6 H, x 14 W These designs are made of 10 mil polystyrene in a one layer stencil. This Decorating Stencil can be used with royal icing, fondant, butter-cream, chocolate or any spreadable material It can also be used on top of any cake surface that isnt wet For butter-cream, make sure the surface has a dry skin or is chilled in the refrigerator and is not tacky or sticky. The best surfaces are rolled fondant, royal icing and pastiage (like rolled fondant, but sets harder). Stencils can also be used for decorations on petit fours, cookies, mints, chocolates and other confectionery items. When baking bread, use a stencil to brush on an egg wash or glaze before baking, or use as a pattern for seeds, grains or dusting powder.Ideas for using Decorating Stencils: Place Decorating Stencil directly on the top and/or sides of the iced cake surface Lay the stencil over the top of the cake and hold in place Using a polystyrene trowel, smooth a small amount of icing over the openings Gently pull off stencil Clean stencil and let icing dry To color, align the clean, dry stencil over the embossed icing and hold in place Use an air brush to apply colors, masking off the surrounding area of the cake and board to prevent overspray Dusting sugar works well with stencils too Instructions included
